Thinking About Technology: Buying A Computer

"It's so hard to buy a computer these days. My daughter needs one for school, I'd like to surf the Internet, and our current computer is too slow. We would love to keep the computer that we have, but it just seems like the machines currently available are so much better - and so cheap! I just don't want to buy something today that will be useless next summer." buddha
One of the biggest burning issues today is when to purchase a new computer. With prices plummeting and performance skyrocketing, it seems that anyone buying a computer in March is kicking themselves in May. Add the fact that computers come in so many flavors these days (thank you, iMac), and you can see how it becomes easy for people to avoid this issue altogether. This section will describe some things to consider when making a new computer purchase. By doing a little investigation, and using your critical thinking skills, you can make purchasing a computer a fun and rewarding activity.
