About Warren Gebert

Warren Gebert was born in Yonkers, NY in 1960. As far back as he can remember, Warren's father was always busy working on art projects around the house. Inevitably, Warren and his brothers, Bruce and Gordon, would be incorporated into the projects - like it or not. The smell of wearing a giant chicken wire and paper mache "Barney Rubble-head" on Halloween is firmly embedded in Warren's memory. It was this strong artistic atmosphere that induced Warren, in a high school senior year panic, to enroll at the School Of Visual Arts. There, he was fortunate enough to meet and study with Jerry Moriarty. It was his unorthodox drawing exercises that allowed Warren to become the illustrator he is today - like it or not. Warren married his high-school sweetheart, Cathy, in 1981. His mother is still waiting, impatiently, one might even say irrationally, for Cathy and Warren to have children. Minor flu symptoms are always viewed optimistically as possible pregnancy signals. When not painting, Warren can most assuredly be found on Rockland County's Spook Rock golf course, losing a double press on the back nine.
